Madakao: Jace et les Razouks
From island to island, Jace, the adopted Reunionese, goes to Madagascar, more precisely on its south-eastern coast, to the Vezo people.
The idea behind this trip is to paint / bulge the sails of the boats of this fishing people using the materials he will find on site. It was in 2002 that the idea was born but it was only in 2009 that Jace , accompanied by the association of Razouks , put the project - colossal when we see the videos - to execution ...
From a visual point of view this umpteenth collection by Jace is once again superb, from the faux-jute cover to the high-quality paper itself. What better way to highlight a terrible photographic job (in particular the armada of Gouzous which sets sail) and simply unique graffiti even if much less corrosive than those of the beginnings which we will talk about soon. Another project, another atmosphere, the quality is there anyway, so above average ...! What imagination, what technique, what magic are they put to use each time!
Also included in the book is a DVD of two times twenty-six minutes which shows the artist at work (In the sun, in the rain lalala ...!) In 2009 and during his return in 2011, all punctuated by a local musical band. Cool. For street art fans: buy or die !!!
