From old school cartoons, to folklore and mythological creatures. Roman Klonek's illustration and woodcut prints remain some of the most sought after artworks across Europe.
His crazy creatures exist in a colourful pop-like surreal environment where he often uses type and lettering from various Asian languages as well as classic Cyrillic characters.
His work also takes from propaganda but blends seamlessley with age old folk tales. He has been part of many exhibitions across the world, including Galerie Revolver in Düsseldorf, the Space in Bangkok as well as the Pictoplasma festival.
Originally from Poland he now lives and works in Düsseldorf and occasionally can be found as a guest professor at the Folkwang University of the arts in Essen.
